Below you will find more information on several ministries that will help you develop your faith and many involve deepening your faith and that of a youngster at the same time!
Bible Studies - Adults meet in small groups to explore the Bible and how it speaks to us today. Different groups meet on different days/times. There is currently a group meeting on Friday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. To get involved contact Scott Mussari.
Christ Renews His Parish - Contributes to the spiritual growth of parishioners through personal conversion and fellowship. Weekends are held in the late winter at the parish facilities on separate weekends for men and women. For information contact Mary Beth Meyer.
ERE/PRE Catechists - Provides an opportunity to educate our children about our faith and help them as they continue on their faith journey. ERE is offered to first through eighth grades who attend schools that do not offer Catholic education. It is held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM-8:15 PM. PRE is for 3-5 year olds, kindergartners and 1st graders and is held during the 9:45 AM Sunday Mass each week from September to May. Registration takes place in August. For more information contact Terri Kerley.
Liturgy of the Word for Children - Children in grades 1 to 5 are dismissed from 9:45 AM Mass to the Day Chapel, where they have their own age-appropriate celebration of the Word of God, parallel to the adult celebration in Church. After the homily, they profess their faith, offer prayers of petition and then return to the main church for the preparation of gifts. We are in need of lectors, homilists, and cantors. For more information contact Scott Mussari.
Men's Fellowship - Are you a busy man? Maybe you would like to participate in a faith-based small group, but you can’t make all the meetings, or evenings are bad due to family, work, etc? St. Columban’s Friday Men’s Fellowship may be for you. We meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays each month from 6:30am – 7:30am. We follow the Sunday lectionary readings for the upcoming weekend so there is no program to follow; just time to reflect on God’s word in fellowship. If you want more information, please contact Jim Rudol. The Saturday morning group meets at 8:30 a.m. For more information contact Chuck Gibson.
Moms in Prayer - Mothers and grandmothers who gather for prayer, using scripture as a guide in offering to God our intentions for our children, our school, our parish, our community and our world. The group gathers once a week in the Eucharistic Chapel for one hour to pray and offer prayer intentions for our parish community. For more information contact Jennifer Redmond.
Prayer Chain - responds to prayer requests via a group email. Those in the group without email receive phone calls. To join, please contact Janet Zorko.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) - Members of the RCIA team walk the journey of faith with those entering the Catholic Church. Volunteers are involved as catechists, sponsors and hospitality ministers. For more information contact Scott Mussari.
Vacation Bible School leaders - Every summer, in July, 3 year olds through 5th graders, along with adult and student helpers, spend a week with a specific theme which relates to several scripture stories and celebrates them in art, activities and song. Volunteers are needed to teach, run crafts and snacks and much more! To volunteer contact Terri Kerley
